In this episode, we review Maids of Misfortune, a historical mystery that showed us a detailed portrait of Victorian San Francisco. We also speak with author Moses Siregar III, about his book, The Black God’s War, and about the joys and challenges of worldbuilding.

Enjoyed your review of Maids of Misfortune. I am a fan of the “cozy” mystery and am pleased to discover a new author in this genre. I have read the sequel to this book and the few areas that you wished to see more enhancement are developed more fully in the sequel. I am hooked! I want to know more about Annie and love learning about life in San Francisco in the late 1800′s. M Louisa Locke is a wonderful new author and I hope to read many more of her books in the future!
Thanks, Gus, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m also looking forward to seeing this series progress.
